We will have lunch at The Office Restaurant and then enjoy Foam Frenzy, Bumper Cars, rides, games and prizes at the ever-popular Funplex.

We will stay at Glenwood and bring the activities to us! Gather at Glenwood. Bring in lunch from Wendy’s and eat picnic-style. Teachers and supplies will come from Snapology for a 2 hour workshop on creative building and robotics using Legos. This should be an excellent class. In any spare time, we will have our own fun and games and prizes.

The Game Vault in Morristown with lunch at Mama’s Old World Meatballs & Pizza. We will take a school bus for this trip. We suddenly had 9 children sign up in the last few days. So although we still don’t have enough children to pay all the expenses of the trip, we decided that it would not be advisable to attempt to take 20 children by train to Morristown.

One last time to soak up the sun and ocean air before the end of the summer!  We’ll tour the Jenkinson’s Aquarium, have some pizza on the boardwalk while breathing in that salty, fresh air and then have fun at the arcade with prepaid game cards. If we have time, we’ll play some games on the beach (far from the water!), build sand castles and fly kites if the wind is right to get some exercise before the bus trip home.

A wonderful seasonal trip to Von Thun Farms with 20+ activities including Hayrides to the Pumpkin Patch, 5+ Acre Corn Maze, Giant Pumpkin Checkers, Rubber Duck Races, Pedal Karts, John Deere Trike Course, Barnyard Bouncers, Junior Pedal Karts, Straw Maze, Barnyard Mini Golf, Pumpkin Bowling, Corn Hole, Barnyard Basketball, Connect Four, Tug-O’ War, Giant Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe, Sand Diggers, Soccer Pool, Skee Ball, Roller Bowler, Wall Ball, Back-40 Football, Bubble Barn, Barnyard Baseball, Tilt Games, Memory Games, Crank Tractor, Jenga, Farm Pong, Croquet, Farm Animals, and a Bee Barn. Great outdoors, refreshing autumn fun for all ages! We’ll pick up lunch on the way and eat picnic style at the farm.

Please let us know if your child will be at SAM that day or will be absent.

SEND COSTUME

Students attending SAM will arrive at SAM, have a short recess, snack and homework. At 4:15 we will go trick-or-treating around the school neighborhood in groups of about 5 students and a teacher. We will return to SAM at 5:45.

If you plan to pick up before 5:45, please let us know so we will bring your child back to school. Mr. Shutte will be in the Multipurpose Room that afternoon, coordinating the phone and early pick-ups.

This lovely and extensive zoo offers a tremendous amount to see and do. We will experience as much as we can of the various animal habitats, animal (penguin, bird and sea lion) feedings, monkey training, the Carousel, the Monorail, the Butterfly Garden, the Children’s Zoo and the Dinosaur Safari. We will have a mid-day picnic lunch and a snack on the bus ride back.

Genius Gems, Millburn. Arrive at Glenwood, walk to Short Hills train station, train to Millburn, walk to Lee’s Asian Grill for hibatchi lunch. Walk to Genius Gems for a session of fun and creative challenges. At the end of the session, we will walk to Dunkin Donuts, Millburn Ave. for snack and pick-up.

Super popular trip! Great, safe winter snow fun! Sit in a large inflated inner tube and get pulled up a big hill, then slide down in a path carved out of the snow. Similar to sledding, but a more comfortable, softer seat, no steering required since the tube stays in the path and path has a soft stop. Get a longer ride than an ordinary hill and no need to trudge back up pulling a sled. Lunch on the way there at McDonald’s, and snack on the trip home. Plenty of adult supervision. Exhilarating, outdoor fun!
